History

The Petišovci field is in an area, the Mura Depression, that has been producing hydrocarbons since the early 1940s and more than 160 wells have been drilled here to date.

The first hydraulic stimulation in the area dates back to 1956.  Hydraulic stimulation was carried out in some 50 wells between 1956 and 1994.  The Petišovci gas field was identified in 1960 and confirmed by the drilling of the Pg-1 well.

At the same time that the well sites were established in the early 1940s, the infrastructure required to export, treat and distribute the produced oil and gas was installed.  Production at Petišovci still continues today on a small scale from some wells.
